Audio narrated with an AI voice. Written in the voice of Grandpa Walt, an AI character; he is not a real person. Not medical advice.
What it is
Thirty small, everyday routines: a slow start to the morning, a made bed, a three-job list, a look at the weather, one small fix a week, a call to an old friend, a letter by hand, a walk you enjoy, a seed on the windowsill. Nothing to buy and nothing to be good at. Most practices take ten minutes or less.
Each day gives you:
- One habit, in a single line.
- A story from Walt's porch, about two minutes to read, in his warm, plain voice.
- One small practice to try that day.
- A page of your own: two questions to write about, wide lines for writing by hand, and a box to tick.
Also inside:
- "Where I am now": a ten-line self-check to fill in before Day 1 and again after Day 30.
- A 30-day tracker for the month.
- Porch notes once a week: what you noticed, what felt like yours, what to try again.
- A closing review: the day you enjoyed most, the habits that suited you, and the three you're keeping, with when and where you'll do them.
- Large, easy-to-read type (Atkinson Hyperlegible, a typeface designed for readability) and generous writing lines.
A taste of Day 5
Fix one small thing a week, the kind you've been stepping around.
I told you the green chair wobbles. Well, it wobbled for two summers. Every morning I'd sit down, it'd tip, I'd say "I ought to fix that," and then I'd drink my coffee and forget. Two summers, kiddo.
One Saturday I turned it upside down and looked. A screw had worked loose and one foot pad had worn through. A screwdriver, a felt pad, ten minutes. That was it. Ten minutes against two summers of wobbling.

Who it's for
For anyone who likes slow mornings, small jobs done well and a good story, and wants a few gentle routines to build a day around. It also makes a thoughtful gift for a parent or grandparent who likes to write things down. About 15 minutes a day.
What it is not
Habits and stories only. Walt is not a doctor, nurse, coach or nutritionist, and this workbook gives no health, medical, diet, exercise or financial advice. It makes no promise about your body or your health. Where a practice involves walking or using tools, it says: do what you're comfortable with, ask for a hand, and if you're unsure whether walking is right for you, ask your doctor first.

Questions
Is Grandpa Walt a real person?
No. Walt is an AI character created by Lamp & Leaf Press. His porch, his dog Biscuit and his friends live only in his stories, which are made up. He has no qualifications. The habits themselves are ordinary, everyday and free.
Is this health advice?
No. It's about small daily routines and the stories that go with them. It makes no promise about your health. For anything about your health, or before changing exercise or diet, talk to your doctor.
Is the type big enough to read comfortably?
The body text is 13 pt in print, set in Atkinson Hyperlegible, with wide lines to write on. Print at 100% ("actual size") for the intended size.
Do I have to print it?
No. It works on a tablet with a pen, or printed at home.
Which paper size do I get?
Both US Letter and A4 are included.
Can I start any day? What if I miss one?
Start whenever you like. If you miss a day, simply carry on where you left off.
Can I get a refund?
Because this is an instant download, there are no refunds once your download starts. If a file doesn't arrive or doesn't work, email us and we'll fix it, or refund you if we can't. This doesn't affect your legal rights.
